Lemon Law

Lemon Law

It is quite surprising that the term 'Lemon' is applicable to Law and above all even more astonishing that there is a term 'Lemon Law' which is applicable to vehicle especially cars.A brief history about this term..mostly during the 1800, 'Lemon' was the word used by people to refer to people who were very unfriendly. Eventually the word was used as a slang to refer to something as "worthless" in American English. During the course of time, 'Lemon' was the term used to consider anything that was defective, especially a car.

Assume you have bought a car, which gives you trouble as soon as you have purchased it.To qualify under state "lemon laws", the defect must be ample and must occur within a certain mileage period, usually 12,000 miles or a duration of one year.In this case, the purchase gets 2 options,of either obtaining a refund or getting a replacement vehicle for the car.But in some cases, the matter needs to be taken to the court.

If we consider America, Lemon Laws vary from state to state, so precise information on the range and rules of Lemon Laws in a particular state need to be collected from an attorney practicing in that state.
