Pro Bono lawyers took an opportunity to provide legal guidance to the community in person as well as over the phone on June 15th and June 16th.
The legal phone-in event was hosted by First Coast News in collaboration with Jacksonville Bar Association, Jacksonville Area Legal Aid and The Florida Bar Consumer Protection Law Committee.
The intention of the event was to help the public with consumer law issues in the areas of foreclosure, defense, bankruptcy, collections and garnishments.
During this 2 hour news broadcast, the attorneys provided brief counsel and advice to around 115 callers.The calls are completely private and the caller remains anonymous.This event is hosted by First Coast News for those wishing to speak to an attorney free of charge.These events have assisted several people to obtain answers to vital questions,to determine the merits of their case.
