Lathrop and Gage, the oldest law firm west of the Mississippi River, has decided to merge with Denver firm Kamlet Reichert.The merger will facilitate Lathrop, a 267-lawyer firm based in Kansas City to expand its employee strength to almost 300 lawyers. The joint firm will retain the Lathrop name.
The the merger with Lathrop will move Kamlet Reichert beyond its current Colorado borders.Cofounding partner Jay Kamlet stated that the merger really brings in areas that they weren't able to do before,oil and gas as well as intellectual property. He also added that numerous other suitors had approached Kamlet Reichert regarding a merger since the firm was established in 2000.
Lathrop CEO Joel Voran stated that its thrilling to add the sophisticated business and real estate expertise that Kamlet Reichert attorneys provide, not only in Denver, but for their clients nationwide . He also added that this inclusion of talent in Colorado makes their business law team one of the most energetic west of the Mississippi.
